Introduction

Part A. Structure and work process

WNS series boiler is a horizontal inner-burning with quickly installed boiler ,it divides into dry back and wet back type. Wet back boiler’s smoke turning chamber is complete water cooling type.



And for dry back type, it is cooling without water.

This boiler is shell type has three passages and wave type furnace.

Oil or gas is sent to burner and eject in the furnace tube to fire. After burb in furnace, the flame will going to turning chamber and enter into the first convection pipe. Then through the smoke box to the second convection pipe.



it will blowoff from chiminy.

Part B. Main characteristics

The boiler has the appropriate furnace size ,which may adapt each kind of burner flame geometry size.


Because the wet back boiler has the water cooling smoke turning chamber,
which avoid problems of the high temperature smoke box using the unwieldy insulation material as well as the construction and seal, etc.


Small capacity wet back boiler with three passages has small volume and tight structure. It’s easy to maintain.


WNS series boiler use import automatic burnert, On the burner the equipment has the entire automatic burning controller and the monitor system, provides entire automatically air blow, ignition and burning control.



The water level in drum, steam pressure, burner blocked, the pipeline oil temperature, if any of them has problem, burner will automatic stop running.



WNS boiler has debuged and test in the factory. The gas burner has function of gas and air low pressure protection.

WNS series boiler could be operated automatic and with highly efficiency, economical, safe, nic look. Also easy to maintenance.


Part C. Necessary accessories

WNS series boiler could be installed burner according to the user’s required fuel (light oil, furnace oil, residual oil, gas) with different supporting control box.

Water pump could be selected by boiler loading and users request.


Part D. Leave factory

The boiler leaves factory with the rapid installation form. In order to prevent meters and other accessories not damaging and losing in shipment. Burner, valves, meters, water pump and control box are all packed in wood box.

Plat roof and ladder are not pack.

When the boiler leaves factory, following technology document will be supplied:

Install Manual

Part A. Preparing before install

1. Boiler room should be designed by the special department which should be conformed to the Chinese Ministry of Labor <steam boiler security technology supervision regulations> the eighth chapter’s stipulation.



2. Install must to be responsible by professional technical person. And provides plumbers, locksmith, craneman and other technical worker.


3. Organizate concerned persons to study <steam boilersecurity technology supervision regulations>, technical documents and manual, in order to understand and grasp the install, lift and operate this boiler.



4. The ground must have the ability to support the boiler.

5. Equipment approval and store

A - After the boiler arrived, user should check all parts according to the shipping list.

b - All parts should be properly stored after arriving to the work site to prevent rust, rain, moisture and freeze.


Part B. Boiler main body’s install
It is a quick install boiler, just put boiler on scheduled groundwork.

Part C.Flat roof and ladder’s install

It should be installed according to manufacturer’s drawing and boiler room. And flat roof, bracket, ladder, baluster should be sealed tightly.


Baluster should be smoothly with good look.


Part D. Water pump and burner’s install

It is easy to install water pump and burner which has already tested in our factory. Just connect and fasten.

Part E. Control box’s install

The control box should be connected tightly with bracket or motherboard when installt, and connect with burner, pump, pressure controller as the control box’s manual.

Part F. Pipeline, valves and other accessories’s install

1. Verify all meters, valves and other accessories before install.
2.
2. Install as the drawing.

3. The set-pressure of safety valve should be verified beforehand, and the valve should be installed after hydrostatic pressure test.

The vent-pipe should lead to the safety place out of room.

4. The blowing pipe contact to the pollution box or other safety place. The conduit should be fastened to prevent moving or scald or other accidents when it blow-off.

5. It should have one elbow at least on the main steam line, or it need add drawtube, and the out side of tube should be keep warm.

6. The ran downcomer under the water gauge must be install to the safety place.
The cock of the water gauge should be circumgyrated agile and do not allow leaking.
Lighting facilities must be installed near the water gauge.

7. The water voluntary control alarm box of the boiler should be connect as the connect drawing of electric cabinet.

8. The pressure gauge’s exterior should be up right, and should draw red line on it which show the highest of the operating pressure.

The cock of the pressure gauge should be circumgyrated agile and do not allow leaking.

The pressure gauge is forbided to heat preservation.

9. The conduit’s auxiliary of the fuel feed system should be installed as the install manual of the burning instrument.

Part G. Chimney’s install
The chimney should be plumb and it’s horizontal direction should not too long (usually less than 5 m).


The height should according to the requirment of local Environmental Protection Department (EPD) .

Part H. Hydrostatic pressure testing
11. After the install all valves and meters, it should inspect and clean boiler inner and each joint’s connect codition. After close man hole, hand hole and other related parts,


hydrostatic pressure test can be going.

. The pressure of hydrostatic pressure test is as follows

3. Hydrostatic pressure test should be going with the around air tempreture above 5℃.

The Anti-freezing step should be prepared if the air temperature below 5℃. In order to

prevent dew on boiler surface, The water temperature which used in hydrostatic pressure test should higher than dew point around.

And the water temperature should not too high in order to prevent boiloff.
The water temperature should between 20 DEGREE0
Water should be fed well-proportioned, not too fast. Vent air and feed water in the same time until the boiler full of water.

In hydrostatic pressure test, the pressure should be increased slowly. Inspect when the pressure to 0.39 Mpa. If necessary, fasten flanges, man hole gate and hand hole bolt.
6. Stop increase when pressure up to working pressure and checke if has water leakage or abnormal occurrence. Then up to the test pressure and keep for 20 minutes.

If pressure not decline, then reduce it to working pressure and recheck. Presssure should be remain unchanged during inspection.

Keep record if has any leakage occures, in order to repaire after declining to
atmospheric pressure
Hydrostatic pressure test is qualified if accordance to following conditions

A - No water drop or dew on metal surface and weld joint of pressure parts

B - No remains and transforms after pressure testing
Operate Manual

The operation of boiler’s start-up and shutdown can be found in the manual of control box.

Part A. Boiling the boiler (operate by install department)
After install the boiler, every single equirpment must process test running, and every part which need lube must be oiled. Also, we need test if the control box can be used normally.

Boiling the boiler with the small fire, the mediums of the boiler water are as follows

NaOH 2~3 Kg/t (boiling water)

Na3PO4•12H2O 2~3Kg/t (boiling water)
If no Na3PO4•12H2O, you can also use Na2CO3 to instead, the quantity is 3~4.5 Kg/t (boiling water

The boiling water use the above medium to fix 20% symmetric solution. Do not put the medium directly into the boiler

When boiler inside has pressure, it will wash the water gauge. The manhole, hand hole and the flange bolt in the boiler must be fastened when the pressure is 0.2~0.3 Mpa,

and check every interfaces to prevent leakage.
When the pressure increase to 75% of operating pressure, keep the pressure for 24 hours, and then stop firing, let the pressure reduce to under 0.1 Mpa

Open the blow-off valve and put out boiling water when the temperaturer of water lower than 70℃. After the boiler cool by nature, open the cover of manhole and hand hole, wash inner of the boiler drum and inspect.

If still have oil sludge, please use the above method to boiling it again.
Boiling the boiler is to be qualitified until no oil sludge in drum, no russet on surface of metalic and no clog in tube and valve.

Part B. Feed water requirement

Customer should select the water treat equipment base on the water quality and requset of produce, and also should follow the regulation of GB1576--<Water quanlity of industry boiler>.

The boiler should not be operated with out dependable measure of water treatment.
Part C. Adjust safety valve
Safety valves should be adjusted when the first fire.

It should be adjusted and inspected according to the “Rules”143.

. The method to adjust safety valve.

Remove the dowel and lead seal, take off the top covers, tight the nut and loose the hexagonal.

Then move the operating rob to loose or tight the spring which help to achieve the steam pressure according to the requirement of the safety valve.

After the adjustment , tight the nut again and seal all the other parts well.

. Do not touch the safety valve after the adjustment.

. When adjust the safety valve, the water level in the drum should be lower than normal
and make sure that the water can be feed at any moment as the safety valve open.

. Do not beat any parts of the safety valve and only use operating rob to open the safety valve.

. The boiler must not be operated while the safety valve unadjusted.

Part D. Feed steam

When the steam pressure close to operating pressure and are ready to furnish steam outside, the water level in the drum should not be over the normal water level, the flame should be stable.


When supply the steam, the main steam valve should be open a little letting some steam out to warm the tubes.

The water escape valve should be open in order to let cooling water out
The time for warming the tubes should accord to the length, diameter of the tubes as well as the steam temperature.

Each time should not be less than 10 minutes. When warm the tubes, should also pay attention to tube inflation and tube bracket. If there is something abnormal, should stop warm the tubes and solve the problems.

Only when the tube warmed and the cooling water gradually disappeared , can the main steam valve fully opened.

The main steam valve should be opened slowly and at the same time should pay attention to any special noise of the boiler.

If there is any, the boiler should be stopped for checking.

When the mail steam valve fully opened, the hand of the valve should be back half a circle in order to make the valve work normally.

When the boiler is supplying steams, should check the steam and water tubes, valves and instrument again for any leakage or abnormal operating.

In order to avoid any water in the steam, never make the water level over the high point level At the same time the main steam valve should between 1.5 to 2 circles, which can also achieve the rated evaporation.

Part E. Normal operating
The main requirement for the boiler operation: keep the water level normal and stable steam pressure, make the boiler room tidy and get normal record, check the mechanical equipment and instrument normal, especially for the electrical governor

Keep safe and avoid any accidences.

. Feed water requirement
When feed water, it should be according to the requirement of low pressure boiler’s water quality

. Water Supply Equipment
Boiler adapted with vertical water pump with automatic controller. Water level range is depended on high and low position of electrode bar inserted into water.

When boiler running, water level lower than setted level, the pump will be started to feed water
When water level reaching the setted high level, pump will be stopped

. Steam Pressure
Boiler inside pressure is selected by pressure controller in an arrangement. Burner will be started and stopped automatically to ensuring normal steam supply.

. Automatic Alarm

When water level over the permitted highest level, electric controlling equipment will make aural and visual alarm automatically.

When water lower than the lowest level or For evaluation only
inside pressure reaches the rated peak level, electric controlling equipment will make aural and visual alarm and start chain-link protection

. Pressure Gauge

Link pipes should be washed periodically. Inspect if pressure gauge is normal.

If damaged, boiler should be shutdown to repaire or change the gauge. In order to make sure gauge’s veracity, it should be checkout and protect according to stuipulation by National Measurement Bureau.

. Pressure Controller
Adjusting value should be in accordance with pressure gauge, which matters boiler normal operation, so frequently checkout the controller.

. Safety Valve
Checkout if safety valves work normal. To Avoid its core box sticking to the seat, it should be lifted the handle periodically. Raising steam pressure once every two to four weeks,in order to checkout if work normal.


. Blowdown Valve

Periodic blowdown (Refer to Part.F)

. Normal Operate

Boiler operated automatically. Operator needs on duty on turn, especially checkout if the steam pressure and water level within the allowed range.

Part F. Blowdown

Usually, feeded water contains more or less mineral substance, after vapourised in the boiler,
mineral substances will stay in boiler and will gravitate after concentrate to a certain extent.

The bigger evaporation and longer running is, the more deposit will be. To avoid damage
from scale, water quality must be reached the requirement.

Alkalinity of water must be
controlled under 20 milligrame/L, otherwise it should be blowdown.
Before finish assaying, operator could blowdown periodically. For example, once every day
or every duty.

Attention:
1. If two or more than two boilers using the same one blowdown system and blow-off pipe

without cut-off valve, then pay attention when blowdown:

a. Two boiler should not blowdown at the same time.

b. If one boiler is instected, it must be separated from blowdown system.

2. Blowdown should under low load and high water level. Pay attention to the water level
change in the boiler.

3. Blowdown can not be running without protect equipment connected to blowdown tank or
well, unless proved nobody standing nearby the blowdown pipe outlet.

4. Blowdown operation:

Each boiler strings two blowdown valves. Turn on the first one (near the boiler)
completely and then turn on the second valve (far from the boiler) slightly to preheat the
blowdown pipe. After preheating, turn on the second one slowly.

When blowdown

finished, turn off the second valve slowly and then turn off the first one.

The aim is
control blowdown by the second valve to guarantee the first valve’s tightness. If the
second one leak, blowdown can be control by the first one.

If has impulsive sound in
blowdown pipes, the second valve shoud be turned lower until the sound disappeare and
then turn on slowly.

5. Blowdown valves must be checked after blowdown finished, process is like this: after a
while turn off the valve, touch the pipes left from the second valve to check if cooler or
not. If not cool, there must be leakage on the valve.

Part G. Boiler Shutdown
Three ways
Shutdown in intermission
The boiler will automatic stop when the inner steam pressure approve to one value (the adjusted value of pressure controller). When the inner steam pressure reduce to a fixed value, it will be restarted by the programme controller in control box.


2 Emergent shutdown
If have sound and color alarm (the water level lower than the limit low level, the steam pressure higer than the most allowed design value) and burner could not stop, it should press the button of emergent shutdown and cut off the fuel supply.
Normal shutdown
Turn off the power, cut off the feed water and fuel supply.
Part H. Maintain
The boiler is operate under normal pressure, it does not allow air leak and smoke leak.
The burner and control box should be inspected normally to protect good running.
The boiler should be inspected every 2~3 months.
a Open the front smokebox, back smokebox and convection tube bundle, clean the dust in them. If no dust, it could prolong the open time.
At the same time, check if the smokebox can close tightness, if the tubes have leaks, then check the up tube side of the behind tube board especially.


B - If the water gauge, valve, pressure controller and tube flanges have leaks, it should be repaired.

The boiler should be completely shutdown to inspect and repair after operate every one year.

The warm cover (out side iron plate) and base (include boielr accessories) of the boiler should be painted each year at least.

If the boiler will not run for a long time, it has two kinds of maintian method: dry maintain and wet maintain.

A - Dry maintain
Drain out boiler water after shutdown, clean the inner dirt completely and wash it clearly.
The furnace should be dry by tightly fire, then make some calces in piece of
10~30mm in boiler which are put in some dishes. Do not let the calces connect to metal.
The weight of calces should be account as 8 kg/m3 based on the boiler drum’s cubage.
Then close all manhole and tube valves, and check it each three months.
If the calces break to powder, it should be changed. The calces should be took out with dishes when the boiler is restarted.


b Wet maintian
Drain out boiler water after the boiler shutdown, clean the inner dirt completely and wash it clearly. Refeed the managed water untill full load and heat the water to 100 DEGREE and discharge the gas out, then close all valves.


Please note: this method is forbad to use in cold area to avoid damaging the boiler by the freezen water

Part I. Inspection of the pressure element
Accordingf to the <the regulation of the safety technical inspection for the steam boiler Except regular inspection, external inspection and water pressure test should be processed in one of the following status:
>

a - Install, move or shutdown for more one year.
B - Complete repaire and amend to the pressure elements
C - Base on the operation status, it needs to inspect when feel some parts is not good.
3. Boiler should shutdown when inspection. According to the demand of \
4. clean the inner water scale and outer ash, removing the insulation layer if necessary.
Focus on the following items when inspection.
A - Some unstable parts which were found during last inspection.
B - If the surface inside and outside of the boiler presssure element has crack and corrosion, especially on the holes, welding lines, etc.

C - If has abrasion and corrosion on tube wall, especially for the tube wall with high flue gas rate.

D - If the firetube bend, if has cracks between tube wall and tube head
e If safety accessories are reliable, if has jammed to water level gauge, safety valve,
pressure gauge, etc.
f If has corrosions, cracks on the joint between feed water pipe, blowdown pipe and boiler shell. If the jonint tightly between blowdown valves and blowdown pipes.

G - If control box and meters are reliable.
3. If corrupt badly, then it should recalculate strength before hydraulic pressure test.
